FOOTBALL & EDUCATION PROGRAMME SCORE SIX

Details of Wednesday's Football & Education programme action

9 June 2021

The Northampton Town Football & Education programme took on Carlisle United at Moulton on Wednesday.

The Cobblers took a sixth minute lead from the penalty spot when Cairo Taylor was fouled, William Glennon scoring.

Taylor was also involved in the second goal on 17 minutes, his ball over the top was met by Eddie Panter, leaving Kieron Mobbs to score in to an open goal.

The visitors pulled a goal back at the midway point in the first half, but Northampton Town's two goal advantage was restored on the half hour mark, Panter was fouled inside the area and Glennon scored his second penalty of the half.

Freddie King made it 4-1 on 52 minutes, sliding home an excellent pass from Panter, before Glennon completed a hat-trick of penalties in 68 minutes, converting after the keeper collided with Panter.

The Cobblers were awarded a fourth penalty on 75 minutes, and this time Freddie King scored from 12 yards, netting his second goal of the game.

Carlisle pulled a goal back late on, but the Cobblers recorded a 6-2 victory.
