Northampton Town Women got their pre-season campaign underway with an 8-0 win over King's Lynn Town in very hot conditions on Sunday.
The Cobblers took the lead on 34 minutes, a Georgia Tear through ball split the defence and Rachael Mumford ran in behind to apply the finish after an excellent first touch.
It was 2-0 just three minutes later, Bianca Luttman cut inside and fired in a shot that the keeper saved but Leah Cudone was quickest to react to knock in the rebound.
It was soon 3-0, Cudone again on target after another inch perfect through ball from Georgia Tear.
A fourth goal arrived just before the hour when Beth Artemiou played a ball through to the trialist who found the net.
Cudone added a fifth on 74 minutes to complete her hat-trick and notched her fourth with eight minutes to go with a fine solo effort.
The trialist scored her second of the afternoon on 86 minutes before the scoring was rounded off with an excellent goal from Chloe Martin, her first goal for the first team and a contender for goal of the day.
