JON BRADY PLEASED WITH LATEST PERFORMANCE

Post match thoughts from the Cobblers boss

24 July 2021

Northampton Town manager Jon Brady was pleased with the performance of his side in Saturday's pre-season game with Birmingham City.

"Overall it was a good performance and it was another step forward in terms of fitness," he said.

"More players got 90 minutes today and more will get 90 minutes on Tuesday and that is pleasing. We have come away from the game with a clean bill of health and that is important.

"I thought we showed good intensity, particularly in the first half and with some of the squad still isolating we are a little stretched in places. We used a lot of young players today and it was good to see Joseph Mills back, getting time on the pitch.

"Millsy adds to the group, his leadership is very important and his knowledge and experience is good for us. He hasn’t lost any of his aggression, he just needs to build his match sharpness with minutes.

"Overall we worked some good minutes in to the players and I was pleased with how we did."
