JON BRADY SET TO MAKE CHANGES FOR AFC RUSHDEN FIXTURE

Cobblers boss looking to boost the minutes for players

27 July 2021

Manager Jon Brady has said that he will make changes to his team for Tuesday's pre-season fixture with AFC Rushden & Diamonds at Wellingborough Town (kick off 7.45pm).

The Cobblers boss has been pleased with the amount of minutes he managed to get in to some of the players in the two home fixtures last week, and says now he will be looking to give some more game time to others.

"We got a lot of minutes in to a lot of the group against Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City," he said.

"On the other hand, there were some of the boys who only got a few minutes here and there and we will look to give them some game time this week so there will be changes to the side on Tuesday.

"We are also welcoming back the self isolating players this week too. That won't be a case of just throwing them back in, it will be a managed return. They obviously haven't been able to train with the group for a week and a bit now so we need to build them back up and they will only go back out on the field when the medical staff believe they are ready.

"We got some minutes in to Scott Pollock and Joseph Mills on Saturday and we will look to give them some more game time on Tuesday and we could well see some younger players in action too."
