JON BRADY READY FOR NEXT STEP AS COBBLERS PREPARE FOR WEST HAM FIXTURE

The Cobblers boss previews the visit of West Ham United

12 July 2021

Jon Brady says Tuesday night’s pre-season fixture with West Ham United at Sixfields is the next step on a four week programme to get the squad ready for the start of the season.

“We’ve got four more weeks to go in pre-season and everything has to be geared to making sure we are ready for that fourth week,” he said.

“That’s the most important thing, we want to hit the ground running for that first game of the season but just as importantly even after that first game we need to make sure we keep improving."

Speaking about trialist Camron McWilliams and midfielder Scott Pollock, Brady added:

“Camron went with Steve Morison to the under 23s at Cardiff and that was a very good opportunity for him. He’s been released by Cardiff now but like with all the players I’ve worked with I’ve kept tabs on him. He’s very fit and strong, in the past he has struggled a bit with injuries so we need to try and get him that consistency and we will see how he goes through pre-season.

“Scott has got a lot of endurance and while he’s been out he has been working hard on his upper body strength. It was really pleasing to see him back strong at Sileby on Saturday and long may that continue.”
