Jon Brady has been speaking about the connections he is looking for the players to build ahead of the Cobblers latest pre-season fixture at Stamford on Saturday, kick-off 12pm.
“We are trying to get connections and partnerships all over the pitch,” he said.
“It’s important we move the ball quickly and we feel we are improving.
“We are building a squad that has good competition for places all over and that’s what we want. You need strength in depth and that is going to be very important for us going forward."
Asked about Scott Pollock’s progress and trialist Josh Debayo, Brady added:
“Scott is really enjoying his football and I think when you have been out for that length of time you appreciate your fitness more. He’s worked so hard during his time out and let us just hope he keeps improving as he is doing.
“We’ve had Josh in for a couple of weeks now and we are just taking it day by day. He has done some good things, there are still some things he needs to work on and we’ll see as we go forward.”
