KEITH CURLE DISAPPOINTED TO EXIT PAPA JOHN'S TROPHY

The Cobblers boss reflects on Tuesday's Papa John's Trophy tie

Cobblers boss Keith Curle was disappointed as he reflected on the Papa John’s Trophy defeat to MK Dons.

“I’m disappointed because I felt we had a good chance to progress,” he said.

“We got ourselves a bit of a foothold in the second half where we were able to disrupt the rhythm of their play but we weren’t good enough in the final third and we gave the ball away cheaply.

“We were only planning on giving Joseph Mills an hour but he got through 80 minutes and that is a big plus. Steve Arnold’s back seized up before the game which added a bit of disruption.

“We needed a game after not playing for ten days and now the games come thick and fast.

“Our focus now is solely on the job in hand and that’s making sure we accumulate enough points to stay in this league.”
