KEITH CURLE SEES ENCOURAGING SIGNS IN PERFORMANCE

The Cobblers boss reflects on Saturday's trip to Lincoln City

Keith Curle saw plenty to be encouraged about as he reflected on Saturday's 2-1 defeat at high flying Lincoln City.

“It was a creditable performance although we are disappointed with the defeat,” he said.

“We started very well and credit to the new lads who came in they didn’t look out of place, they all fitted into the team very well.

“We had the lion’s share of the first half, even in the second half I didn’t feel Lincoln opened us up and we nullified a lot of their forward play.

“We had chances, I felt we had a strong shout for a penalty and if Sam Hoskins' shot goes in we could have come away with a draw."

Asked about the injuries picked up by debutant Mickel Miller and Jack Sowerby Curle said:

“It looks like a potential hamstring for Mickel and a knee for Jack but until they settle down we won’t know the full extent. They will be in getting treatment and we will assess them. They are both important players for us and hopefully it’s nothing too serious.”
