KEITH CURLE LOOKING FOR A FRONT FOOT PERFORMANCE AT ACCRINGTON

The Cobblers boss looks ahead to Saturday

4 February 2021

Cobblers boss Keith Curle is looking for his side to get on the front foot when they make the trip to in-form Accrington Stanley on Saturday.

Before heading to Blackpool on Tuesday, the Seasiders had scored five in their last game, while Saturday's opponents scored six in their last outing in midweek.

“We need to get on the front foot more,” he said.

“We need to be better in the final third and that’s not just the strikers, it’s everybody getting forward. We need to retain the ball better and give those forward players better ammunition.

“We need to ask Accrington questions in their own half so we need to get numbers forward and in the right areas.

“Accrington are a very well organised team and everybody in the team knows their roles and responsibilities.

“They can mix the game up and they are very streetwise. That is meant as a term of respect, they have got a good understanding of what they are about."
