Cobblers boss Keith Curle reflecting on Tuesday night’s 1-0 home defeat to Wigan Athletic.

“We didn’t do the basics tonight and we got outfought and out challenged,” he said.

“The competitive edge we showed at Accrington on Saturday wasn’t there and we didn’t respect the simplicity of what needed doing.

“A mistake lead to the goal but we didn’t show that fight, hunger and desire that you need to win a game of football.

“We are in a fight to stay in this division and we need to show that hunger and desire week in week out as a bare minimum.

“I’m a fighter and I will scrap to get people on board to get the results we need to stay in the division.

“Individually we need to all turn up and it’s my job to make sure we do.”
