Alex Dicks and Francesca Partridge were on form as Northampton Town Women’s Development team won 5-0 against Moulton Ladies on Sunday, continuing their fine pre-season form.
Jasmine Sawyer started proceedings after Daisy Brown found space down the right wing, she cut the ball across to Sawyer who finished with a first time shot. Daisy Brown was then at it again, this time finding Francesca Partridge, who smashed her shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.
The Cobblers Development side continued to cause problems in the first half, Beth Artemiou came close to getting her name on the score sheet with a missed penalty, and Partridge added a third, thanks to a composed finish across the face of the Moulton Ladies keeper.
The second half was the same story, with Alex Dicks scoring again. After some well played passes, the Development side were able to move the ball out to the wing, Eleanor Banning drove down the outside, played it to Dicks who struck a first time finish.
Northampton Town Women’s Development side then made it 5-0, Peggy Lee played through Alex Dicks who took it round the defender and smashed the ball past the keeper. Manager Alex de Boer said after the game, “It was not our best start but we controlled the game, we were more aggressive in winning the ball back and we put some good, flowing attacking moves together.”
