JON BRADY ON PREPARING TO FACE COVENTRY CITY ON WEDNESDAY

The thoughts of the Cobblers boss

Northampton Town manager Jon Brady has looked ahead to the Carabao Cup first round tie at Coventry City.

“It will be a difficult test but we’d love to go on another run in this competition,” he said.

“Coventry are a Championship side and for anyone who saw their game on Sunday you know what to expect. They are back at home, the atmosphere was incredible and it was a fairy tale last minute win for them.

“I’m sure they will be buzzing from that and hopefully there will be another big crowd in on Wednesday night.

“Our away following is incredible and hopefully we will go there with a good following. It will be tough but we’d love to cause an upset.

“Looking back we are pleased in many ways with Saturday, it was great to have the fans back and the atmosphere was brilliant.

“There are areas we can definitely improve on but to get a win against a team who I think will be there or thereabouts come the end of the season is a great result.

“We were on the back foot at the start but we stayed strong and built ourselves into the game. Nothing fazed us, we grew into it and we got stronger.

“The game could have gone either way but we got the win and our 12th man certainly helped us.

“It’s always nice to notch your first win in the first game of the season and let’s try and build some momentum now.”
