JON BRADY AWARE HIS SIDE FACE TOUGH OPENING DAY TEST

Jon Brady says his side face a tough opening day test as he previews Saturday’s season opener against Port Vale.

“Darrell Clarke has worked very hard to put a good side together and on paper they look a very good team,” he said.

“The focus as always needs to be on us though and how we can influence the game. We need to be positive and that won’t change, we know what we need to do to try and get a positive result on Saturday.

“We want to be an attacking side that creates chances and we will look to get crosses into the box and get shots off as often as we can.

“I think we’ve got players who will excite the fans and get bums off seats and that’s what we want to bring back.

“I want a team that our town is proud of and I want to see the stadium full week in, week out. Players feed off the fans and I’m sure our players are really looking forward to the fans being back in numbers."

Brady meanwhile provided a squad update ahead of the big kick-off.

“We’ve got a couple of players who aren’t quite ready yet but apart from that we are close to being there.

“We still need to give some players some game time before we blood them in and we have got to be careful with that.”
