SAM HOSKINS NAMED PFA COMMUNITY CHAMPION

Sam honoured for his contribution to the community this season

21 April 2021

Sam Hoskins has been named as the club’s PFA Community Champion for the 2020/21 season.

The PFA Community Champion is an award that aims to raise the awareness of the support that its members offer to the community projects run by the Northampton Town FC Community Trust throughout the course of the season.

Throughout Sam’s time at the club, he has contributed to the community activities in any way he can, especially throughout the last year in what has been a particularly difficult year due to restrictions meaning face to face activities have not been able to take place like they normally would. Sam has done all he can, whether that be phoning our vulnerable fans to tackle loneliness and isolation or sending countless video messages of support to fans.

Hoskins said, “I am proud to win this award in what has been a challenging year for everyone due to the pandemic, I know how important it is to stay connected with supporters, especially as we haven’t been able to see them this season. I am just happy I could do my bit and if it put a smile on just one person’s face then it was worth it.”

Northampton Town FC Community Trust Chief Executive Phillip Smith said, “We’re extremely grateful to Sam for the work he puts in to support our local community. The impact he’s had on our work across the Community Trust this year has been brilliant, in what has been a difficult time for everyone. Congratulations to Sam for winning this award and our thanks go to him for his ongoing support.”
