The Northampton Town Female Football & Education programme side took on Sheffield United at Moulton on Wednesday.
After the visitors went close to scoring inside the first ten minutes, the Cobblers took the lead on 17 minutes when Mollie McCabe was put through on goal and she scored with a confident finish.
The Blades levelled midway through the first half before the Cobblers were close to restoring their lead ten minutes before the break when a cross from Kelisha McAllister was delivered into the area and in the ensuing scramble the ball was cleared off the line.
United took the lead for the first time in the game in 59 minutes and quickly doubled that advantage with another goal on 62 minutes to record a 3-1 win.
