ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Important information around the social media boycott this weekend

30 April 2021

From 3pm on Friday until 11.59pm on Monday evening, Northampton Town Football Club will join our fellow clubs, players, managers, staff members, the FA, Premier League, EFL, FA Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Championship, PFA, LMA, PGMOL, Kick It Out and the FSA for a social media boycott.

We are disappointed that this is necessary, but English football is united in emphasising that social media companies must do more to eradicate online hate, while highlighting the importance of educating people in the ongoing fight against discrimination.

We wanted to share with you how our coverage will change this weekend.

Our web site and mobile site will continue to operate as normal, as will iFollow. Saturday's game will be available to watch on iFollow as usual, while if you experience any issues using the iFollow service, contact details for iFollow technical support are here: https://www.ntfc.co.uk/ifollow/support/

We do not anticpate any iFollow issues this weekend and expect a smooth streaming of the game. However, if any technical problems do occur, we will post regular updates from the EFL Digital team here on ntfc.co.uk

Instead of tweeting updates through the game, we will bring you live text commentary of the Blackpool match via ntfc.co.uk. Please head to the MATCH CENTRE that will appear on the ntfc.co.uk homepage on matchday, then choose the LIVE TEXT tab for live updates.

Post match, iFollow and YouTube will show highlights in the usual way, although, in accordance with the boycott's policy and the consistent approach agreed by clubs across the EFL, the comments section on YouTube will be turned off.

Over the weekend the club store will be open from 9am until noon on Saturday, and will then reopen at 9am on Tuesday, (closed on Bank Holiday Monday).

The ticket office is next open via 01604 683777 at 10am on Wednesday (closed on Bank Holiday Monday). Supporters are reminded that merchandise is available via ntfcstore.com

In terms of season tickets, thank you to everyone who has notified us of their credit, refund or donation choice. Even if you have not heard back from us, if you have notified us of your choice to the relevant email address, we will action in accordance with your wishes.

We will be contacting all those who requested a refund during May, while a reminder for those who are claiming a credit, please call the ticket office on 01604 683777 between 10am and 2pm on a (non Bank Holiday) Monday, Wednesday or Friday to renew as the credit cannot be applied online.

The season ticket discount deadline is June 26th.

Our social media channels will resume next Tuesday morning, and we hope that the action from across English football this weekend creates debate and serves to emphasise that social media companies must do more to eradicate online hate, while highlighting the importance of educating people in the ongoing fight against discrimination in all forms.

Thank you for your support and your understanding.
