Another victory and another clean sheet for Northampton Town Women as they beat AFC Dunstable 3-0 in their final pre-season friendly at home on Tuesday evening.

The Cobblers got off to a great start on 13 minutes after Fay Noble played a ball through to Leah Cudone, who squared for Naomi Dauncey to tap in.

Later in the first half, the AFC Dunstable keeper made an excellent save to deny a Sara Wait header to keep the score 1-0 going in to half-time.

A few minutes in to the second half, the Cobblers doubled their lead. Georgia Tear played a ball through to Cudone who raced through and finished brilliantly into the far corner to make it 2-0.

Then in the later stages of the game, AFC Dunstable failed to clear the ball from the box and Gracie Williams took advantage to make it three with her first goal for the club.

This was a good defensive performance from the Cobblers with AFC Dunstable failing to threaten the goal of Jo Daniels throughout.

That’s five wins in five games as the Cobblers go into their first competitive game of the season on Sunday afternoon against Haverhill Rovers; an FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round match.
