KEITH CURLE'S THOUGHTS AFTER EFL TROPHY TIE AT MK DONS

The Cobblers boss looks back on Tuesday's EFL Trophy tie at MK Dons

8 September 2020

Cobblers boss Keith Curle reflected on the opening EFL Trophy fixture at MK Dons on Tuesday evening.

“I don’t like losing but as I’ve said to the players in the dressing room when we do lose we learn,” he said.

“We started the game okay and caused MK Dons a few problems. Joseph Mills took his goal well but we were just a little bit loose and maybe showed a bit of fatigue but there are still lots of things we can take out of the game.

“We’ve picked up a few knocks and little injuries which you are going to get from playing two competitive games in a short space of time but we will be okay.

“We are looking forward to being competitive this season and the first league game of any season is always a big occasion.

“The selection for the team on Saturday is not complete yet and there are still places up for grabs.

“We will have a role call on Thursday to see who is available but Benny Ashley-Seal will come into the squad and we are hopeful on Joe Nuttall.”
