Cobblers boss Keith Curle says his squad are ready for the competitive action to start as he reflects on his side’s pre-season in the build-up to Saturday’s Carabao Cup first round tie with Cardiff City.
“Pre-season has been a bit shorter for us this year but I’m pleased with our preparations and where the group is at,” he said.
“The players all came back in good shape and I’m pleased with how everybody is looking.
“The players did have some time off after the play-offs but they were all desperate to get back to work and that is a good sign.
“I’ve got an idea of the team I want to pick on Saturday but we are still adding good competition to the squad.”
