KEITH CURLE PRAISES CHARACTER OF SQUAD AFTER WIN AT SHREWSBURY

Post match reaction

Cobblers boss Keith Curle was a happy man as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-1 away win at Shrewsbury.

“That was a win for the changing room and for what we are trying to create and build,” he said.

“We started the game well but then came off it a little bit and lacked energy. I think that was a bit of a mental thing but in the second half we upped it slightly.

“Their goal didn’t rock us and we showed tremendous character. I was very pleased with our attitude and application again and we know with the players we have got we are always going to be a threat.

“We’ve played a lot of games and we’ve got players who have suffered because of that but we don’t make excuses, we accept every challenge we get head on and we want to be competitive in every game we play.”
