New signing Danny Rose is excited by the challenge of joining the Cobblers.
Rose joined Northampton Town from Mansfield Town for an undisclosed fee on Friday and said he is excited by the move to the PTS Academy Stadium.
"It is a great opportunity for me and a new challenge," he said. "I have been in League 2 for a few seasons and I am ambitious to play in League 1 and this move gives me that opportunity and I can't wait to get started.
"This is a good club with a good, effective squad and I can't wait to be part of it. The club has a clear identity and I think that will suit me. When I was speaking to the Gaffer here we spoke about that and we agreed on that and I am hoping I can chip in with a few goals to help the team.
"I saw how well Callum Morton did here last season. I remember watching the play offs and being really impressed with him and how the team adapted to suit his game to benefit both Callum and the team and to help get the best out of him. I am a slightly different type of player, I like to get in behind but I also like to think I am decent in the air too so hopefully I can help the squad here.
"There have been a few good battles between teams I have been in and teams that Keith Curle have managed over the last few seasons and I am glad that I made an impression on him! I try to be a nuisance for defenders and make my mark on a game.
"There are some really big clubs in League 1 and I am excited about some of the games we have. This is a very tough league and of course things will be a little different without fans but we will adjust and adapt to that and hopefully fans will be back to watch games sooner rather than later.
"I am joining a good squad and can't wait to get started and to help Northampton Town."
