KEITH CURLE'S THOUGHTS AHEAD OF SATURDAY'S TRIP TO WIGAN ATHLETIC

The Cobblers boss previews Saturday's game

Keith Curle wants a little bit extra from his side to start turning the defining moments in games the Cobblers way.

Against both Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth in the last few days, the Cobblers have had chances to go ahead in games.

“We created some good chances on Tuesday, controlled and dominated possession of the ball in the first half but goals change games,” he said.

“There are things we need to improve on, we need to make the opposition work harder and it’s the little defining moments that we need to tidy up on.

“We are doing okay for 45 minutes to an hour but we need a little bit extra.

“We are always respectful of the opposition and our mentality and approach going into every game is exactly the same.

“We are competitive in every game we play and we just need that little bit of luck or the ball to run our way.

“The changing room are hurting, they are angry and frustrated but their attitude towards hard work is first class and they are also taking on board the criticism. It’s never nice being criticised but that’s how you learn, develop and improve.”
