KEITH CURLE ISSUES CHALLENGE AS COBBLERS PREPARE TO FACE 'VERY STRONG' CHARLTON SIDE

The Cobblers boss looks ahead

Cobblers boss Keith Curle previews Saturday’s home fixture with Charlton Athletic.

“The challenge to the changing room now is to try and get back to back wins,” he said.

“That’s the next milestone for the changing room, and that’s our focus.

“Charlton are a very strong team with an abundance of ability, they’ve got a good squad and I think they have shown that with the changes in personnel they have had in their last three games.

“Winning games is the gel that every changing room needs and when you are winning games you tend to get that little bit more out of the players.

“We are all in football to win games and we’ve got a mentality that whatever the game and whatever the opposition we want to win, regardless of the personnel or formation we might play.

“We have different game plans but ultimately our aim is to try and win.

“We probably deserved more than we got at Plymouth but we earn the win against Swindon with some dogged defending.

“When things are going well for us in a game we need to exploit that but when things aren’t quite going our way and we’re not quite finding that extra pass we need to have the right mentality about us to dig in and defend our box.

“We kept our defensive shape well on Tuesday night the only slight disappointment was that in the second half when we did get the ball back we didn’t use it well enough.”
