The Northampton Town Community Trust have secured funding in order to continue the delivery of the Fit Cobblers programme.
Thanks to funding from The NCF Queen’s Institute Relief Fund to the tune of £4,950.00, we can now deliver a further three blocks of the popular programme.
The NCF Queen’s Institute Relief Fund help organisations deliver projects that improve the health and wellbeing of the Northamptonshire community.
The Fit Cobblers programme is a free 12-week lifestyle behaviour change programme for men and women aged 35-65 years of age. We have only delivered blocks for men so far as before then, there were no specific programmes for men in Northamptonshire.
Fit Cobblers helps participants to make better choices and improve their lifestyle and health by focusing on small changes you can make for a long-term gain.
Since the start of the first Fit Cobblers block in March 2019 we have engaged over 50 participants and every participant that has completed the programme has lost weight and felt that they consciously make better lifestyle choices.
Northampton Town FC Community Trust’s Sports Participation Officer, Akshay Mistry, was delighted at the funding news, saying, “Our Fit Cobblers programme has been a real success. It is such a popular programme and being able to help people free of charge makes such a difference to peoples lives and that of the local community, I would like to personally thank the NCF Queen’s Institute Relief Fund for their backing.”
