CLARENCE'S END OF HALF TERM PLAY OFF TROPHY SCHOOLS TOUR!

The Northampton Town Community Trust took Clarence to local schools of Northampton over two days recently, accompanied by the League 2 Play-Off Trophy!

Clarence was showing off his brand-new home kit on the tour, which is again proudly sponsored by Able Labels for the 2020/21 season.

The tour of the Northamptonshire schools gave children the chance to meet Clarence as well as see the play-off trophy after fans were not allowed to attend the final at Wembley. Clarence met each class in each school and asked about what they had been learning since they were back in class. He then went on to answer a range of yes or no answers from the children before having class photos with the trophy!

Miss Wilcox of Raunds Park Infants said, “Owl Class loved meeting Clarence and seeing the trophy! Two pupils from Owl Class were especially excited to receive a special medal from Clarence as he was so impressed with how kind they have been this term, thank you again, we loved it!”

The club's Schools and Business Development Manager, Damon Fox added, “It was great to get out and visit so many children in a safe environment. It was great to see the enthusiasm in the children when they told me what they had been learning with a host of topics discussed from maths, to Romans, Vikings and the Great Fire of London! Being able to bring the trophy was a bonus and is something the children will not forget in a hurry!”

The schools that Clarence visited over the course of the tour were Upton Meadows Primary, Monksmoor Park Primary, Danetre and Southbrook Learning Village, Millway Primary, Raunds Park Infants, Windmill Primary, Stanwick Primary, Woodford CE Primary and Irthlingborough Junior School.

The Community Trust are looking to engage even more schools in the future with Clarence in the form of Takeover Days! For more information on this and how you can get involved in any other aspects of our schools programme, please contact damon.fox@ntfc.co.uk
