Cobblers boss Keith Curle gave an honest assessment as he reflected on Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat to Peterborough United.
“Peterborough are a good team with some good players at this level and it shows we need to improve,” he said.
“I felt we contained them a bit better in the second half but we have to be honest and admit that they are a team who are slightly ahead of us right now.
“Their first goal came from our throw in and the referee has apologised for that decision, the fourth official was shouting it was our throw. We all make mistakes and at least the referee has been big enough to apologise.
“We are not afraid to learn and develop but within that we need to improve and we need to get better, individually and collectively.
“I know I’ve got a changing room that isn’t scared of challenges and I know I’ve got a group here who can improve.”
