Keith Curle has spoken about the importance of recovery time ahead of a busy December schedule.
The Cobblers were without a game at the weekend, and Curle says the players will have felt the benefit of that rest.
“It has been very good for the players to have a few days rest and for the staff it gave us the opportunity to go out and see some games,” he said.
“We got some good work into the players in the latter part of last week but then at the weekend we were able to give them some much needed rest ahead of a busy schedule coming up in December.
“We are mindful that when the players play they give us a lot of energy and we expect that but recovery time is massively important as well.
“Mentally the players are in a good place and we are looking forward to the games we’ve got coming up.
“The way we work as a group everything we do is geared up towards game day and the players know what is expected of them."
