After Northampton Town Under 18s continued their good run of form with a 2-0 win at Gillingham on Saturday, coach Jon Brady praised his players.
“We battled brilliantly in the first half and really dug in against a strong, downhill wind," he said.
“We had a fair few chances cleared off the line but that didn’t dampen our spirits.
“We kept fighting and played some excellent football in the second half, winning thanks to two great finishes.
“We were on top and it was a real team performance in terms of battling.
“You had to win the battle to earn the right to play today and we did that.”
The Cobblers youngsters travel to Peterborough United on Saturday.
