Northampton Town Under 18s manager Jon Brady says that his team are looking forward to their trip to Stevenage in the EFL Youth Alliance League on Saturday morning.
The youth team’s journey to Hertfordshire had originally been scheduled for the beginning of October, but the fixture was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Speaking at training on Friday, Brady said: “We’ve come off the back of four games in 12 days and had a week to rest and recuperate.
“Unfortunately, we’ve come through the period with a few injuries.
“However, that gives others an opportunity, puts them under the spotlight and gives them the chance to shine.
“The boys are topped up, ready to go and looking forward to the game.”
The young Cobblers deserved more from their 2-2 draw away to top-of-the-table Luton Town last week, and coach Brady added: “We always want to improve.
“We’ve been really strong defensively this season but there are a few little issues that we’ve tried to iron out this week."
Saturday’s match is the second in a run of four successive away fixtures for the youth team.
