KEITH CURLE DELIGHTED WITH AWAY WIN

The Cobblers boss looks back on Saturday's trip to Burton Albion

Cobblers boss Keith Curle was a happy man as he reflected on Saturday’s 3-1 away win at Burton Albion.

“There were lots of positives to take from the game and individually some of the performances were very good,” he said.

“We had good understanding of our shape, something we have worked on a lot in the last couple of days and the players have had to take on board a lot of information.

“We scored a lot of goals from set pieces last season and that is something we have had to look at again as well.

“Harry Smith played with a smile on his face today and his second goal was a great finish.

“We haven’t been winning games and results haven’t been going our way. Players do feel pressure and they understand how desperately we want the three points for the football club.

“We’ve got willing workers but when you work hard you need to also work smart.

“I was disappointed with Jonathan Mitchell at the end but he will take the criticism and move on. I wanted a clean sheet and he just needed to clear the ball down either side rather than down the middle

“We set some good standards today and we need to try and maintain those going forward.”
