TWO CAPTAINS FOR NORTHAMPTON TOWN LADIES NEXT SEASON

Plans being made ahead of the new season

21 May 2020

Following successful promotion to the East Midlands Women’s Premier Division in 2019/20, captain Alex Bartlett led the Northampton Town Ladies to a promising mid-table finish after the league was brought to an early close in March 2020.

Going into the new season, the captain’s role has changed and has been split into two; Club Captain and Team Captain. Alex will be taking on the role of Club Captain, which will allow her to focus more time in developing the off the pitch philosophy and support any club-related business. Eden Brown (pictured) will be the Team Captain, and will be responsible for enforcing the on the pitch philosophy, as well as wearing the armband on match days.

Alex Bartlett said: “It’s an honour and privilege to have Eden by my side for the upcoming season. Eden is an experienced player with great motivation and will help encourage the team throughout the season. We are sure the combination of myself and Eden will bring strength to the team.”

Eden Brown added: “I’m excited to work alongside Alex for the upcoming season, she’s a fantastic player and a great captain. I think we will both be able to learn from one another and help the team to be the best we can possibly be.”

With this new leadership set up and other changes brought in by joint managers Lou Barry and Josh Oldfield, all at Northampton Town Ladies are excited to pick up from where they left off last season.
