KELVIN THOMAS ON WHAT HE EXPECTS FROM THE PLAY OFFS, IF RATIFIED

Chairman on what he believes the play offs might look like

20 May 2020

Chairman Kelvin Thomas says that, if ratified, he expects the League 2 play offs to take place as usual, with a two legged semi final and a one off final, albeit behind closed doors.

"We don't know too much detail yet, the outline framework was spoken about on Friday and we do expect a home and away semi final in the play offs and a neutral venue final taking place over ten days to two weeks," he said.

"Ideally, we would like things finished by the end of June so the contracts are all tidied up. I think we would be looking at 2-3 weeks training before then so we would expect things to be moving fairly soon, that would be beneficial for everyone.

"In terms of the testing protocol, we have received an extensive document from the EFL and we have been going through that with the medical staff and the Club Doctor and we will be at least adhering to that, if not going a step further, to make sure players and their families are as safe as they can be. That is another expense we will be going to but we want to make sure the players and staff are in the safest environment possible."
