The Northampton Town Ladies season is over after the FA declared the season void for the female game from levels three to seven following the coronavirus outbreak.
The Cobblers finished in sixth place in the league table, their first season at the higher level of the East Midlands Women’s Football League Premier Division. Their final record was six wins, a draw and three defeats with a positive goal difference of 13.
The final game of the season for the Cobblers was a 3-2 win over Mansfield Town on March 8th and after a mixed start to the season, the Cobblers adjusted well to life in the higher division and ended the season strongly after finishing unbeaten in six games.
Thank you to all of the players, staff, volunteers and supporters for their work through the season. Circumstances may have led to an unexpected end, but we look forward to seeing everyone back for next season.
