The Northampton Town Ladies recorded a dramatic 3-2 victory over their Mansfield Town counterparts in a topsy turvy East Midlands Womens Premier Division match on Sunday.
Aimee Smith opened the scoring for the Cobblers just before half time, but the visitors started the second half strongly, and two goals after half time meant they led 2-1 just after the hour mark.
However, the Cobblers, boosted by debutants Eden Brown and Bianca Luttman who both came on as substitutes, levelled on 67 minutes through Sara Wait.
The game was settled with eight minutes to play when Francesca Partridge kept her cool to score from the penalty spot and seal the three points with a 3-2 victory.
The Cobblers girls saw the final few minutes out to become only the second team this season to beat the Stags.
The win stretches the unbeaten run to six games and moves Northampton Town Ladies up to fifth, just four points behind the second placed Stags with a game in hand.
