Cobblers boss Keith Curle has praised Callum Morton’s time at the club so far - and the club's recruitment - following Morton's nomination for Sky Bet League 2 player of the month for February.

Morton has netted five goals since joining the Cobblers on loan from Championship side West Brom in January.

“Callum has reaped the rewards of his hard work,” he said.

“He’s had a hunger and a desire to ply his trade at league level and he’s shown that since he’s come in.

“He’s been a big character in the changing room and the goals he’s scored have been down to the hard work he’s put in.

“We tried to sign him before but that didn’t quite happen for one reason or another and then he unfortunately got injured.

“Like Harry Smith, he worked really hard to get back fit from his previous injury and that tells you a lot about his character.

“I’m very pleased with the recruitment process we have got in place, there has been a massive turn around in personnel but we’ve bought in some good characters and there are some real assets here now.”
