JAMES OLAYINKA RETURNS TO FITNESS BUT SHAUN McWILLIAMS IS UNLIKELY TO FEATURE AGAIN THIS SEASON

A fitness update ahead of Saturday

On-loan Arsenal midfielder James Olayinka is back in contention for Saturday’s home game with Mansfield but Shaun McWilliams is unlikely to feature again this season.

"We’ve got players coming back and probably the biggest headache I’m going to have over the next ten games is picking a matchday squad and a starting eleven,” said boss Keith Curle.

“There were some very good players not in the eighteen on Saturday and my job now is managing the environment.

“It’s not about the eleven, it’s not about the 18, it’s about every single professional at the club because they have all got a part to play.

“We’ve got good competition and I’d be comfortable with any one of them being in the starting eleven.

“James has ticked all the boxes with Arsenal, they have got some reservations whether or not he is fit and available to start and play 90 minutes which is understandable but we’ve got good communication with them and they are happy to hand him back over to us.

“On the other hand, unfortunately, I don’t think we will see Shaun McWilliams again this season.

“He is still in a leg brace, he has got another check up in the next week or so and hopefully then he will be able to take that off.”
