Cobblers boss Keith Curle explains the work the players have been doing to maintain their fitness during the enforced break to the season.
“We have done things a little bit differently and we haven’t given the players generic programmes to follow,” he said.
“The players have been in contact with us daily to let us know what fitness work they have been doing and then we have been advising them whether they should be doing anything more or reducing or changing what they have been doing.
“Everyone is fit and healthy. We had one player whose daughter had a friend at school showing symptoms so she was advised to self-isolate but that was ten days ago so they are now coming towards the end of that period.
“It’s obviously, as everyone has said, an unprecedented situation but the criticism that I have is for some of the media outlets and the language that some of them are using and also for the people who have been stockpiling food from the supermarkets.
“My partner suffers from anxiety and it’s alarming when you see someone deteriorate because of the news they are seeing.
“Although it’s important to get the vital information sometimes you need to dilute the amount and switch the news off."
