On Saturday, we revealed clues for five former and current Cobblers players for you to guess. Thank you for taking part - the answers are revealed below!

Player #1 - Andy Woodman

I started my professional career with Crystal Palace in 1989 before leaving for Exeter City in 1994…

Following a year with Exeter, I joined the Cobblers in March 1995 under then manager Ian Atkins…

I went on to make 160 appearances for Northampton over a four-year spell…

As well as playing for Northampton, I also turned out for the likes of Brentford, Colchester United and Oxford United…

I spent time coaching at Newcastle United, and I’m now working at Arsenal…


Player #2 - Nathaniel Wedderburn

I was born in Wolverhampton on 30th June 1991…

I started my youth career with Stoke City in 2005, and stayed with the Potters until 2010…

In the summer of 2010, I joined the Cobblers on a two-year contract, and was part of the squad that won away at Liverpool in the League Cup…

I went on to make 33 appearances for the Cobblers before leaving in 2012…

Since leaving Northampton, I’ve played for Scottish teams such as Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Dunfermline Athletic…

Player #3 - Ian Taylor

I was born in Birmingham on 4th June 1968, and started my youth career locally with Moor Green…

In 1992 I signed for Port Vale, before getting a move to the Premier League with Sheffield Wednesday two years later…

I then joined my boyhood team, Aston Villa, for a fee of £1 million and made over 220 appearances for the club…

A two-year spell at Derby followed before joining the Cobblers in 2005…

I made 38 appearances in my first season, helping Northampton to promotion as league runners-up…

Player #4 - Jamie Forrester

I was born in Bradford on 1st November 1974…

My signed my first professional contract with Leeds United, where I was also called up for England under 18’s…

Following spells with Grimsby and Scunthorpe, I earned a move to FC Utrecht in Holland…

I only played one game there though, and joined the Cobblers on loan where I scored 6 goals in 9 appearances…

I made my move permanent in 2000 and scored 39 goals over three seasons before joining Hull City…

Player #5 - Andy Williams

I signed professionally with my hometown club, Hereford United, in 2004 after working my way through the youth system…

Goalscoring spells with Yeovil Town and Swindon Town followed having spent the previous three years with Bristol Rovers…

I then joined Doncaster Rovers and played alongside ex-Cobblers striker John Marquis…

Following promotion to League One, I joined Northampton in the summer of 2018…

 I’ve scored 20 goals so far for the Cobblers, including a couple of important late ones…
