GOOD FRIDAY GAME DECLARED AUTISM AWARENESS DAY

Club have teamed up with TRACK NN for the Colchester United game

9 March 2020

As part of April's Autism Awareness Month, Northampton Town will be welcoming people with autism and their families to the Colchester United game on Good Friday as part of the club's partnership with TRACK NN.

TRACK NN was set up by Tom Cliffe to help those on the autism spectrum gain access to employment through training, consultancy and creating opportunities, and to support their work, the club have declared the Colchester United game on Good Friday as Autism Awareness Day.

Tickets will be allocated for a dedicated area of the stadium (East Stand) with access to a time out facility in the Education Centre for those who want to spend some time there.

Visual stadium guides will be provided prior to the game and support will be put into place to make the experience suitable for their needs.

This follows on from a successful event at the Macclesfield Town game last season.

"We are delighted to once again be partnering with TRACK NN," said Chief Executive James Whiting.

"Last Good Friday we declared the Macclesfield Town game Autism Awareness Day, and we are pleased to do the same again this year.

"TRACK NN do some fantastic work and as a club, we are very proud to be partners of such a community focussed organisation.”

Tom Cliffe, Director of TRACK NN added: "Following the success of the Macclesfield Town game last year, we are delighted to see this year’s Good Friday fixture against Colchester United be chosen as an Autism Awareness match.

"We time these days for the Easter weekend as April is autism awareness month, and, just as we did 12 months ago, we will be working with the club to provide lots of information before, during and after the game to make sure people enjoy their day.

"Supporters are of course welcomed in all areas of the ground, but the additional facilities on offer in the dedicated area may make the game more accessible to some of our supporters."

For more details on how to attend the game, please call the Northampton Town ticket office on 01604 683777 between 9am and 5pm any weekday or for questions about the work of TRACK NN, please email thomas@track.org.uk.
