Thank you for your support

30 June 2020

Thank you so much for your support this season. You may not have been able to physically attend the play off games, but we know you were with us in spirit - every step of the way.

From a bottom half of the table finish in 2018/19 to promotion at Wembley twelve months later, not forgetting the best Emirates FA Cup run for sixteen years, we have enjoyed some real high points together this season.

Aside from the play offs, before COVID-19 struck, we shared some thrilling victories along the way – the 4-1 win over promoted Crewe, the 3-1 success over also promoted Plymouth, the 4-2 Emirates FA Cup win at Burton, along with wins at Salford and Grimsby also among the highlights. There was also the draw with Derby County on that special Friday night in front of a capacity crowd at the PTS Academy Stadium, when we could and maybe even should have made the last sixteen of the FA Cup.

Then there was the off the field work in so many areas. To all of the supporters who have donated their season and match ticket money to the club – thank you. The wonderful gesture from the players and Keith Curle and his staff to forgo their bonuses for reaching the play offs should not be forgotten either – a fantastic gesture and one made in recognition of the club’s integrity in how things have been handled during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nor should we forget the outstanding community work carried out by so many of the players and staff at the club. Never has the club felt more at the heart of the community than it has this year, thank you to everyone who we have connected with – we hope we have been able to help in some small way.

We haven’t even begun to mention the excellent work of the Academy, the Education programme, the Northampton Town Ladies who adjusted well to life at a higher level and of course the club’s fantastic Community Trust.

This summer, will be different. The impact of COVID-19 is being felt across the industry, and no one yet knows when next season will start. One thing we do know, however, is that we will be doing our very best to continue to make you proud of the club, both on and off the field, in the same way that we are proud of our support. We made a lot of progress in 2019/20 and we want to continue that in 2020/21 at the higher level.

We will update you on season tickets for 2020/21 soon. For now, thank you for your support, there is plenty to be proud of and plenty of progress made. We believe we are in a good place and have excellent foundations to build on as we plan ahead for 2020/21.
