Cobblers boss Keith Curle was understandably delighted after seeing his side clinch promotion to League 1 with a fantastic 4-0 win over Exeter City at Wembley Stadium in the Sky Bet League 2 play off final.
“Exeter are a good team and we had to show them the respect they deserved,” he said.
“We didn’t shy away from our fundamentals and we stuck to our game plan.
“I will enjoy this result with my family, now is not the time to talk about individuals but when I joined the club I said to the Chairman that I needed a promotion.
“I knew it needed a lot of hard work but I had that belief that this club could do something.
“Tonight is a real reward for everybody at the football club and for the fans for all their support.
"This is a very good football club, it has been a real team effort and I am delighted for everybody connected with the club.
"We will enjoy this result but the real hard work starts now for League 1."
