Cobblers boss says cup tie experience will help his team in upcoming play offs

2 June 2020

Manager Keith Curle says his squad will be more than ready for the play offs when they come along, and they will use their cup tie experience from playing ties against Burton Albion and Derby County this season to help them prepare for the big games.

"I think the squad will be more than ready when the games come around," he said.

"I have been very impressed with the physical condition of the players and the mental sharpness they have. They are all excited by the play offs, they are all buying in to what we are doing and we see it is a challenge we can rise to.

"We can compete with anyone in this division and we know that. Whoever people see as favourites, we won't worry about that. The play offs, particularly this season, will be very different for everyone. We know what we can do and we know we can compete with anyone. We had some excellent performances in cup ties this season and that will stand us in good stead for these play off matches.

"The loan players are back with us and that is great. There has been good communication between us and their parent clubs and they have been kind enough to extend the loans and what an opportunity those players have to take part in the play offs."
