The Northampton Town Community Trust Stand for Equality, Inclusion and Justice. We stand with the black community globally as we create a better world together. As a charity, the mission of Northampton Town FC Community Trust is to connect communities and improve people’s lives, ensuring that all parts of our community are treated equally. We stand against the racism and injustice our black community endures and are committed to playing our part in raising awareness and evoking change.
It is important we show our support but we are also committed to taking action where we are in a position to do so. Our work over the past few years has seen us deliver a variety of workshops to young people to promote inclusion working with partners such as Kick it Out, Show Racism the Red Card and The Big Ideas Company. NTFC and NTFC CT have also supported the Kick it Out matchday as a regular fixture each season.
The story of former Northampton Town FC player Walter Tull is one of a number of ways the message is being shared locally. Northampton Town FC Community Trust have been delivering Walter Tull educational Workshops in local schools which look to counter discrimination by promoting equality and inclusion, through exciting and engaging activities. These activities promote conversation and raise understanding around the issues Walter faced, many of which are just as relevant today. Earlier this year over 100 pupils took part in a special event at the stadium.
We know though that more needs to be done to address this global issue. We pledge to do our part by continuing and expanding on this work to reach and educate even more people, to raise further awareness and promote positive conversations across the Northamptonshire community and in turn to help tackle racism and inequality. We welcome discussions with organisations who would like to work with us too.
