Harry Smith said the excitement of winning at Wembley has settled down, and the Cobblers are looking forward now, planning for life in League 1.
"The euphoria is settling a little bit,” he said. “We celebrated the win well, but now we are looking forward to next season and to working hard.
"Last season had its up and downs. It is funny how things turn out. I got that bad injury at Crawley on Boxing Day but grafted hard to come back, I got back just ahead of the lockdown but used the time to get stronger and stronger and was delighted to have played a part in the play offs.
"Personally, I have never worked harder. I got myself in to great condition and I felt really fresh and sharp. Then football got suspended but as a club we dealt with it well and it all worked out well in the end.
"It was great to be involved in the play offs. We were written off but it shows our character to come back and win 3-0 at Cheltenham and we followed that up at Wembley. It was a dream come true really.
"League 1 is a very tough league now. There are some really big clubs in there but we will be ready and we will enjoy the challenge."
