KELVIN THOMAS SAYS KEITH CURLE HAS DONE AN 'EXCEPTIONAL JOB'

Chairman delighted to retain services of manager

8 July 2020

Chairman Kelvin Thomas has praised the job that manager Keith Curle has done since taking charge at the PTS Academy Stadium in October 2018.

The Cobblers were close to the foot of the League 2 table when Curle arrived, but he led the club to promotion at Wembley at the end of his first full season in charge.

"Keith has done an exceptional job," said the Chairman.

"It has been great to see our progress. He was tasked with keeping us up to start with, which he did, and then to put together a squad that could challenge for promotion and he did that as well. We changed and evolved as the season went on, we had a slow start but we picked up and got stronger.

"We didn’t have the top budget in the league but we challenged Keith to overachieve on his budget and he did that. I am personally pleased for him, I think he has done better throughout his career than he often gets credit for. He has done a great job this season, as has the rest of his staff.

"Keith and his staff have embedded themselves in the community and in the fabric of the club and that is great to see. That community spirit cannot be underestimated and is really good to see and really impressive."
