Cobblers boss Keith Curle said the supporters helped see Northampton Town on to victory in the New Year’s Day win over Stevenage, Andy Williams' strike in second half stoppage time sealing the three points and putting Town back up into the play-off places.
“I think we created enough chances to win the game today and make it a more comfortable result,” he said.
“Andy Williams took the goal well and as a manager it’s nice to have those attacking options on the bench.
“We created chances but we need to be more clinical.
“I feel the frustrations but today the supporters got that goal for us and they got that extra yard out of the players.
“We know we are still a work in progress but it is always easier to work in an environment with a winning mentality.”
