Cobblers boss Keith Curle thanked the travelling support for sticking with the team after they fell a goal behind in Saturday’s come from behind victory at Salford.
“It was a proper game of football and both Sam and Andy’s goals were excellent finishes,” he said.
“We started the game very well but after about fifteen minutes we dropped off, we spoke about that at half-time and we know we need to maintain and be relentless at what we do well.
“If teams want to go toe-to-toe with us we will stand our corner and we showed today with the goals we scored the quality we have.
“We brought over 1,000 supporters today and there is a reason why. The unity that we are trying to build is growing and the fans support will be the foundation from which we build.
“Credit to the fans they stuck with us when we went behind, they urged us on, got us on the front foot and they gave us a great boost.
“What we are trying to build at the football club is growing and gaining momentum and hopefully they go home today with a good reward for their hard earned money.”
