Cobblers boss Keith Curle says the squad are putting all thoughts of the Emirates FA Cup 4th round tie with Derby County to one side as he previews Saturday’s trip to Salford.
“Our focus both individually and collectively is only ever on the next game,” he said.
“The focus this week has been very much on Salford and we know we are in for a difficult game.
“They have recruited very well, they’ve got a number of options as to how they can play and they have got some good players in their ranks.
“They have had a little bit of an up and down season adjusting to life in League 2 which is understandable but on their day they are very competitive and very dangerous.
“We need to play our own game and as always that is about nullifying the opposition's strengths and exploiting their weaknesses.”
