Cobblers boss Keith Curle has three new additions to his squad and Mark Marshall, Callum Morton and James Olayinka are all in contention for the visit of Scunthorpe United.
“We’ve made a few additions and that will give us a little bit of extra freshness,” he said.
“Usually you find when new players come in that can also up the levels of the players already here and that competition for places is what we want.
“We’ve got a very competitive squad and hopefully the new additions will raise the standards again.
“Mentally we are strong and physically we are very fit but it’s up to me now to manage the group.”
