KEITH CURLE - 'I'LL ONLY MOVE IN TRANSFER MARKET IF RIGHT PLAYER IS AVAILABLE AT RIGHT PRICE'

Cobblers boss happy to bide his time, but will move if deal is right

Keith Curle is biding his time in the transfer market and is only willing to move for the right player if they become available.

“We are in a position to strengthen and there are a host of players who are available but we will only bring in the right players,” he said.

“If the right players aren’t available immediately we are prepared to wait, if you rush into making signings it can sometimes do more harm than good.

“We’ve got a very good group in the changing room here and there is still room for improvement from some of those players who haven’t fulfilled their potential yet.

“We need to give those players more game time to give them that opportunity to flourish but if the right player becomes available we will make a pitch.

“I identify targets who I want to bring in and if I believe there is a deal to be done then I will take it to the football club. Any deal has to be right for all parties and we only want players who are right for us and want to be here."

Curle has meanwhile confirmed midfielder Alan McCormack remains 'touch and go' for Saturday’s home game with Morecambe.

“Alan remains touch and go for this weekend and we will monitor him throughout the week,” he said.

“He is one of those players who wants to train all the time and play in every game but we have a duty of care to the lad, we’ve got a lot of games coming up and we need to get as much game time out of Alan as possible.”
